Mrs. Theresa E. Loucraft

Theresa E. Loucraft Retired Election Commissioner City of Lowell LOWELL—Theresa E. (Tucker) Loucraft, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on April 23, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Loucraft who died in 1970. Theresa was born in Lowell on May 13, 1928, a daughter of the late William G. and Elizabeth (Rouine) Tucker. She attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. Theresa lived her entire life in Lowell and enjoyed spending her time with her large family. She had many wonderful times traveling with her sisters and brother and their spouses on many trips and events through the years. She loved her time with the Highland Players, with her good friend Joanne Green, and supporting the youth sports much of her life revolved around. Theresa loved the hours she spent cheering on her children and grandchildren in whatever they chose to do from sports to the arts. She taught them all that hard work, family, and friendship would take them wherever they needed to go in life and she lived her own life by that rule every day. In 23 plus years as Election Commissioner for the City of Lowell and her fifteen years as a Dietician for the Bedford VA Hospital, she took great pride in her record of hard work and loyalty, and she cherished the friendships she earned during those years. She enjoyed her 4 decade long membership in TOPS and looked forward to seeing her pals there at each meeting. After her retirement, her life revolved around her 10 grandchildren, her 11 great grandchildren, and of course her Westie and best pal, Duffy. He was always close by. Theresa enjoyed bowling with her sisters, trips to the beach with her grandchildren, and outings to Lincoln, NH and the Beacon Hotel. Mrs. Loucraft is survived by her five children: Nancy Ann Christie of Lowell, Joan M. Loucraft and her partner Lindy Rogers of Boston, Robert J. Loucraft and his wife Carolyn of Tewksbury, Irving J. Loucraft and his wife Karen of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Brian J. Loucraft and his wife Eileen of Nashua,NH; her ten grandchildren, Lyndsey Valcourt, Jennifer Sharon, Yvette Ursuliak, Colleen Chinni, Robert Loucraft, Randy Loucraft, William Christie, Darin Loucraft, Christopher Ursuliak, and Samuel Loucraft; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Anne Robey of Lowell, and Rita Gallagher and her husband Owen of Florida; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Freeland of Las Vegas, Tony Wallace of Lowell, Margaret Loucraft of Lowell, Maria Jensen and her husband Gerald of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews, and her close friends, Denise Walker of Chelmsford and Bessie Sadlier of Lowell. Mrs. Loucraft was the mother of the late Kathleen Loucraft who died in 1957, and sister of the late Mary Harrington, Margaret Ralls, Katherine Cullinan, Gertrude Lantagne, Helen Wallace, Elizabeth Tuson, Henry Tucker and William Tucker; and sister-in-law of the late Alice Tucker, Raymond Robey, Raymond Lantagne, John Harrington, George Ralls, Warren Tuson, Charlie Cullinan, and Charles “Chick” Loucraft, Ruth Freeland, and Irving Loucraft, Jr. FUNERAL NOTICE LOUCRAFT—In Lowell, April 23, 2011 at her home.
