Teresa Oliveria Loving Wife, Mother, & Nana “A True Lady” LOWELL—Teresa E. “Terri” (Maloney) Oliveria, the beloved wife of Neil J. Oliveria, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, April 23, 2011 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 78 years old. Teresa was born in Revere on November 8, 1932, a daughter of the late James P. and Flora F. (Tranfaglia) Maloney. Teresa was educated in Revere schools and was also a graduate of the Boston Stenotype Institute. Teresa married Neil J. Oliveria on October 12, 1952, and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage and raised five loving children. Teresa was employed by the Lowell School Department as a Librarian at B.F. Butler School. “Mrs. O,” as she was affectionately known at school, was a favorite teacher of all of her students during her 15 years at the Butler School. Mrs. Oliveria loved children. She was very involved in her own children’s schooling, sports, and activities. She was also involved with the Oliveria Little League for many years, as well as a Cub Scout Leader at the Sacred Heart Parish. Teresa was a very active member of the Sacred Heart Church/Holy Family Parish. A member of the “Sacred Heart Girl’s Club,” she enjoyed many trips and social gatherings. For many years Teresa and her husband Neil wintered in Clearwater Florida, where they had a tight knit circle of friends. They enjoyed many activities during their stays in Florida. She loved reading, bowling, and taking care of all of her family pets. A true Boston sports fan, Teresa’s favorite team was the Boston Red Sox. She never missed watching a game. She was the best wife, mother, and nana in the whole wide world. Teresa is survived by her large loving family: her husband, Neil J. Oliveria of Lowell; her children, Neil J. Oliveria, Jr. and his wife Linda of Townsend, Pat Rossi and her husband Michael of Revere, Terri Weisz of Scottsdale, AZ, and John Oliveria of Lowell. Mrs. Oliveria was the mother of the late James William Oliveria who died in 1964. She also leaves six grandchildren, Angela C. Rossi, Michael Rossi, Anthony Rossi, James Oliveria, Jeffrey Oliveria, and Timothy Oliveria; two great grandchildren, Heather and Jaxon Oliveria; her brother, James P. Maloney, Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Reading, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Kay Oliver, Joe Oliver, Jim Oliver, Gladys Carignan, Thel and Don Curran, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many dear friends. Teresa was the sister of the late Flora Mather, and sister-in-law of the late Ken Mather, Dot Oliver, and Oscar Carignan. FUNERAL NOTICE OLIVERIA—In Burlington, April 23, 2011 at Lahey Clinic. Teresa’s Funeral will begin on THURSDAY MORNING at 9 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 o’clock at HOLY FAMILY PARISH – ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, Corner of Chamberlain and Grafton Sts. Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
