Rose M. “Rosie” Plourde Hildreth Loving Mother, Memere, Sister & Aunty DRACUT—Rose M. “Rosie” Plourde Hildreth, 74, passed away at her daughter’s home in Dracut on September 5, 2024, following a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Rose was the wife of Charles. Rosie was born in Lowell on March 12, 1950, a daughter of the late Alfred A. and Rolande B. (Boucher) Plourde. She was educated in the Lowell Schools. She was brought up in Little Canada. Her first job after high school was with the Lowell Shoe Company as a supervisor. After that, she worked for a short time at Basbanes Cleaners of Lowell in the linen department. For most of her career, Rosie was employed with St. Joseph’s Hospital and later St. John’s Hospital in the Housekeeping Department. Rosie was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne Baptiste Church in Lowell. Rosie was an avid Bingo player. She enjoyed playing for many years with family and friends. She enjoyed beaches, camping, ballroom dancing, and cooking and baking for her family especially around the holidays. Rosie liked to play cards, scratch lottery tickets, and play Keno. She loved movies, her favorite being Chucky. She loved to eat seafood and fried dough while visiting the beach. Rosie was always the life of the party! Besides her husband, Rosie is survived by her daughter, Michelle L. Anstiss and her husband Joseph A. “Joe” Anstiss of Dracut, her son Thomas G. Cowgill and his wife Kelly of Raymond, NH; her brother, Robert Plourde of Dracut; her grandchildren, Paige, Meghan, Alec, Brandon, Devin, Thomas “Tom Tom”, Michaela; many nieces and nephews including her favorite loving niece Tracy L. Wallace of Lowell; her in-laws, Judith Plourde of Dracut, Benjamin “Benny” Worthen of Richford, VT, Paul Pilato of Lowell; and her dear friends, Annette P, Coupal of Lowell, Alicia Coupal of Dracut, and many friends from Bingo in the Greater Lowell area and in New Hampshire. Rosie was the loving mother of the late Carryann A. Cowgill Lopez who died on February 24, 2008. She is survived by her son-in-law Peter Lopez. Rosie is also the sister of the late Dot Young, Theresa Maheu, Dolores McGillicuddy, Doris Worthen, Rolande “Tiger” Plourde, Debbie McCabe, Raymond Plourde, Paul Plourde, Ernie Plourde, Ronald Plourde, Freddie Plourde, and Thomas Freddie Plourde. Rosie also leaves her three cats, Daisy, Archie, and Bella. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on TUESDAY, SEPT. 10, 2024 from 4 until 8 PM. Her burial will be private.
