Mr. Roger "Derick" Marquis

Roger “Derick” Marquis Of Lowell and Dracut Roger D. “Derick” Marquis, age 30, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 6, 2015, following a sudden medical event. Derick was born in Lowell on October 11, 1984, a son of the late John Pinard and Doris Marquis-Atencio of Dracut who survives him. Educated in the Dracut Schools, Derick went on to the Greater Lowell Voke and finished his schooling at Salem, NH High School. Derick was a skilled carpenter for the past 15 years and worked locally in the construction and carpentry trade. He was also a skilled Boxer, training at the Ramalho’s West End Gym in Lowell and at the YMCA. He had fought in the Golden Gloves. Derick always tried to finish anything that he started. He always tried to do things right for work. He was a guy that always had your back-didn’t matter if you were family or not. He loved to work and he loved his work. He also loved dogs. He was talented at drawing and sometimes did tattoos for people. Most of all, Derick loved spending time and going out to eat with family. He will forever be remembered for saying, “I need to go out and build something.” Surviving Derick besides his mother Doris and her husband Dan Atencio are his brothers, Jason Marquis, Mark Marquis, and Mike Marquis; his grandmother, Alice Pinard of Hudson; his aunts and uncles, Chuck Pinard, Julie Pinard, Lisa Pinard, Henry and Linda Marquis, Albert and Lisa Marquis, Lucille and James McKinzie, Louise and Anthony Berube, Roger Marquis, and Leo and Pam Marquis; his great aunt and uncle, Annette and Charles Burke; his nieces and nephew, Ida, Nevah, Tyler, and Faerydae, and Shannon Macdonald; 13 cousins, Serafina, Rosalia, Leonard, Sarah, James, Douglas, Jessica, James, Angelina, Anthony, Justine, Joshua, and Jeremy; and his God parents, Roger Marquis and Lucille McKinzie. Derick was the grandson of the late Louis and Gloria Marquis. FUNERAL NOTICE MARQUIS—In Lowell, April 6, 2015. Roger Derick Marquis, age 30, a Lowell and Dracut resident.
