PAUL F. GEORGES Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather DRACUT—Paul F. Georges, age 84, of Bradenton Beach, Florida and formerly of Dracut, MA passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Cooney) Georges, to whom he was married to for 62 years. Paul was born in Lowell on January 31, 1938, a son of the late Paul and Alice (Kroll) Georges. He is a graduate of Keith Academy and was admitted to the Lowell Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016. He continued his education at Boston State College, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, and the University of Lowell, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Psychology. Paul was a United States Marine Corps Veteran, serving from 1956-1959. For many years, Paul was employed as a Therapist for the Veteran’s Administration in Bedford. Paul lived most of his life in Dracut, raising his family there. He enjoyed working around the house and out in his yard. He was a big fan of all Boston sports teams, enjoyed attending Celtics and Red Sox games and in later years watching professional and college football games. Paul enjoyed fishing and recreational boating, especially while living in Florida. He loved the ocean, going to the beach and being out on the water. He was retired Coast Guard Auxiliary in Manatee County Florida, where he served as Vice Commander. Paul and Rosemary have spent the last 20 years living in Bradenton Beach, Florida and summered in South Berwick, Maine. They loved dining out together, and Paul had a big appetite and loved to eat! Most of all, Paul loved his grandchildren. They were the most important people to him in the whole world. Paul was the father of the late Maryellen Riley who passed away in 2007. Paul is survived by his wife Rosemary, his daughter, Paula Hamel and her husband Mark of Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Mollie Hamel of Brooklyn, NY, Lauren Hamel of Chelmsford, Katherine (Riley) Shlien and her husband Zachary, and Daniel J. Riley, all of Rye, NH; a great granddaughter, Emily Rose Shlien; his son-in-law, Daniel S. Riley of Rye, NH; his sisters, Elizabeth Dumont and her husband Leo of Hudson, NH, and Ann Connors and her husband James of N. Hampton, NH; two sisters-in-law, Rita Georges of Lowell, and Ann M. Grady of Lowell; also many nieces, and nephews including Janice Kimbal of Woburn. Paul was also the brother of the late Francis Georges. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Life Care Center of Merrimac Valley, Billerica MA for the compassionate comfort and care provided to Paul and his family.
