Patricia A. Keene Loving Mother and Grandmother LOWELL—Patricia Ann (Callahan) Keene, the beloved mother of David Keene and a resident of the Highlands neighborhood passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Lowell General Hospital. Patricia was born in Lowell on September 20, 1932, a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Clifford) Callahan. A lifelong resident of Lowell, Pat was educated at St. Peter’s Grammar School and Lowell High School, where she was a Girl Officer. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. Throughout her working career, Pat was employed with Mass Electric and the Lowell School Department as a Librarian at the E. N. Rogers School. Prior to retiring, Pat worked at the Raytheon Company for several years. Pat loved her Irish heritage. She was a strong Irish Catholic woman. Family was the center of Pat’s life. She took great pride in her three grandchildren, Taylor, Sarah, and Sean. She also loved attending their sporting and school events and going out for ice cream with them. Pat enjoyed going out for walks and her frequent lunch dates with the “Club Girls.” Surviving Mrs. Keene are her son, Lt. David Keene, Lowell Fire Dept. and his wife Maureen (Hodge) Keene of Lowell; her three adoring grandchildren, Taylor Keene, Sarah Keene, and Sean Keene all of Lowell; her sister, Margaret Shaughnessy of Lowell, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Patricia was also the sister of the late Stephen J. Callahan, J. Clifford Callahan, and John F. Callahan. FUNERAL NOTICE KEENE—In Lowell, November 27, 2011 at Lowell General Hospital. Patricia A. (Callahan) Keene, 79, a Highlands resident. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on WEDNESDAY from 4 until 8 PM. Pat’s Funeral will begin on THURSDAY MORNING at 8:30 AM from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM at ST. MARGARET’S CHURCH, 374 Stevens St. Lowell.
