Miriam I. Figueroa Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister LOWELL—Miriam I. Figueroa, age 57, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2015. Born in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico on November 25, 1957, she was one of nine children of the late Juan Figueroa and Rita (Carrion) Figueroa. She received some early education in Puerto Rico, before moving to the United States, where she completed her education in New Jersey. Prior to her illness, Miriam was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at the D’Youville Senior Care Center. She loved her work and she loved to make other people work, always encouraging them to be the best they could be. Miriam was always fun to be around. She was a jokester, always making people laugh. She was very outgoing and independent. Miriam was welcoming to anyone and everyone. She was a very family oriented lady. Her children described her as a “Mom” that gave of herself unconditionally and went above and beyond. She was an excellent sister, always loving and caring. Miriam was also a wonderful grandmother, and even raised some of her grandkids. Miriam loved playing Bingo, eating Chinese Food, cooking, and listening to music. Miriam is survived by her large loving family, her seven children, Sonia Figueroa, Abraham Figueroa, Luz Figueroa, Rosa Nunez, Juan Nunez and his fiancé Crystal Shamaly, Miriam Ruiz, and Jesus Ruiz; her sisters and brothers, Ivis Ruiz and her husband Vincent Ruiz, Iris Figueroa, Sonia DeJesus and her husband Basilio DeJesus, Alma Guerrero and her husband Luis Guerrero, Holvin Figueroa and his wife Rosa, Eloy Figueroa, and Juan Guerrero and his wife Cassandra Guerrero; she was the sister of the late Brunilda Gonzalez. Miriam also leaves thirty five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. DEATH NOTICE FIGUEROA—Died in Lowell, September 14, 2015, Miriam I. Figueroa, beloved mother of seven. Family and friends are invited to the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE ST. LOWELL TODAY, FRIDAY MORNING from 9 until 11 AM.
