Maura E. Slattery Loving Mother ANDOVER—Maura E. Slattery passed away peacefully in her home in Andover, MA on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the premature age of 47. She is survived by her beloved children, Catherine, Bridget, and Declan Machold of Andover, formerly of Chelmsford. Born in Lowell, MA on July 18, 1967, she was the daughter of Mary A. (Flaherty) Slattery of Lowell and the late James M. Slattery of Lowell. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from Lowell High School, Class of 1985. She continued her education at Saint Michael’s College, Winooski, VT where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Class of 1989. Maura excelled in her career as a human resources executive for over 25 years. She truly enjoyed working with her colleagues and friends at GE Insurance, Cisco Systems, Sun Life, and Millennium Pharmaceuticals. In addition to her children and extended family, Maura’s passions included fashion, baking, and travel. She was fortunate to travel extensively for work and with her family throughout Ireland, Europe, Canada, and Asia. Maura regularly recalled with good humor her pre-marriage travel excursions with her mother throughout Europe as well as an around-the-world trip with her father in 1987. She was very proud of her Irish Heritage and she maintained dual citizenship with Ireland. Maura was the sister of the late Jane Slattery and is survived by her three brothers: Michael Slattery of Littleton; James Slattery and his wife Lisa F. of Chelmsford; and Shawn Slattery and his wife Lisa M. of Andover. She was the loving aunt to four nephews and one niece: Seamus, Padraig, and Maeve Slattery of Chelmsford; and Brendan and Michael Slattery of Andover. She is survived by her former husband, Chris Machold and will be dearly missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins and her dear friend Jane Miller. FUNERAL NOTICE SLATTERY—In Andover, July 7, 2015 peacefully at her home, Maura E. Slattery, age 47. Family and friends are invited to her Calling Hours at HOLY FAMILY PARISH - ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, 75 Chamberlain St. LOWELL, on THURSDAY MORNING, from 9 until 10:30 A.M., followed by Maura’s Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. Her burial will take place in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
