Mary C. McGuire Loving Mom, Daughter, Sister and Friend LOWELL—Mary Catherine McGuire, 34, a fiercely loyal spirit and valiant fighter till the end, set free the burden of her illness and went home to God on May 12, 2015, with those she loved all around her. Mary bravely battled MDS for many years. She was the loving mother of Damien “Diggy” Peters, whom she adored as her whole world. Mary was born in Glendale, California on April 4, 1981, a daughter of Walter R. McGuire, Jr. of Newmarket, NH and Suzanne (Blier) McGuire of Lowell. Mary attended the Lowell Schools. She worked in the accounting management field prior to her illness. Mary was a spitfire. She was full of spunk and energy. Mary made everyone laugh. To speak of Mary or even hear her name would bring a smile to your face. She had that special way about her. She wanted to exceed in everything she did, and never gave up on anybody. She was a go-getter. Throughout her illness, Mary always maintained hope that things would get better. Her firecracker personality was the exterior which held inside a loving, caring, and giving soul. She was tough, with a sweet and gentle core. If Mary was your friend, you had nothing to worry about. Mary loved the McGuire Family. She had a nickname for everyone. Mary knew that her family was always there for her. Mary was the big sister of the late Eric D. McGuire who died on June 30, 2013. Mary is survived by her beloved son Damion “Diggy” Peters; her father Walter R. McGuire, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Newmarket, NH; her mother Suzanne (Blier) McGuire of Lowell; her brothers and sisters, Andrew McGuire and his wife Kim of Lowell, Matthew McGuire and Kate Pingryn of Austin, TX; Faith McGuire of Stratham, NH, Christina Cabrerra, James Brown, Mychaela Brown, and Samantha Brown all of Lowell; Judith McGuire of Stratham, NH, who was a mother figure in Mary’s life; her paternal grandmother Eleanor McGuire; her maternal grandfather Andrew Blier of Tewksbury; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and her son Damien's father, Kris Peters. Mary also leaves lots of great friends…and Pat too! Mary was the granddaughter of the late Walter R. McGuire, Sr. and the late Mary Blier. FUNERAL NOTICE McGUIRE—In Boston, May 12, 2015, at Tufts Medical Center, following an extended illness, Mary Catherine McGuire, 34 a Lowell resident. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on FRIDAY from 4 until 8 PM. Mary’s FUNERAL will begin on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her FUNERAL MASS at 12 NOON at ST. MARGARET’S CHURCH, 374 Stevens St. Lowell. Cremation will follow.
