Lorraine Bogdzewic Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother LOWELL—Lorraine (Bernard) Bogdzewic, the beloved wife of the late Alphonse A. Bogdzewic, passed away on Thursday afternoon, at her home, surrounded by love. Lorraine was born in Lowell on October 30, 1927, into a large family, when times were tough and money scarce. She was one of eight children of the late Arthur J. and Ellen V. (Buey) Bernard. Educated in the Lowell schools, Lorraine was a 1943 graduate of the Lowell Vocational School. As a young woman, she married Alphonse, the love of her life, and got busy starting a family. Lorraine wanted a home of her own so she was determined to do everything necessary to achieve that goal. She made it happen. Lorraine dreamed the dream and pursued it. Lorraine worked selling Avon products door to door in the early days…46 years selling to friends, family, and strangers. Lorraine pursued that dream, and got that home. She had worked at Nu-Knit in Lowell and retired from the Purity Supreme Supermarket Offices in Billerica. Lorraine filled her home with love. Her family was ever present in her life. Her happiest times were when her home was filled with people. Family and friends eventually materialized into grandkids and great-grandkids. Oh the joy! And Unconditional Love. Lorraine’s door was always open, and the coffee was always fresh and hot. Lorraine was a strong willed, caring, and generous woman who was always thinking of others. Her resolute loyalty to the Sacred Heart Parish never wavered. Her strong faith got her over the bumps in life. She was devoted to her daily prayers and to the memory of her husband and daughter. Lorraine dreamed her dreams, lived her life, and made her family proud. Lorraine got that home…and filled it with love. She will live in our hearts forever. Lorraine is survived by her son, David A. Bogdzewic and his wife Jeanne of Lowell; her daughter, Mary Ann Peaslee and her husband Arthur of Plastow, NH; seven grandchildren, Susan Cortez and her husband Roger of Dracut, Marti Martinez and her husband John of Lawrence, Jennifer Laurin and her husband Raymond of Dracut, John Bogdzewic of Lowell, David Bogdzewic, Jr. and his wife Donna of Troy, NH, Tina Desrochers of Salem, NH, and Kristy Izzo and her husband Rob of Pennsylvania; 17 great grandchildren, Roger Jr., Eddie, Thomas, and Catherine Cortez, Meagan, Raymond Jr., and Cara Laurin, Nikolas, Gabriela, and Kaleb Martinez, Kalli and Nicole Bogdzewic, John Henry Bogdzewic, Jocelyn Morales and Bret Desrochers, and Kyle and Aaron Izzo. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and her dear friend, Carol Rocha of Lowell. Lorraine was the Mother of the late Ellen Frances Martin. She was also the sister of the late Gerald, Raymond, Walter, and Solange Bernard, and Dorothy DiGiovanni, Delores Legault, and Alice Coombs. FUNERAL NOTICE BOGDZEWIC—In Lowell, August 2, 2012 at her home, Lorraine (Bernard) Bogdzewic, 84, wife of the late Alphonse A. Bogdzewic. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on SUNDAY from 4 until 8 PM. Lorraine’s Funeral will begin on MONDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, corner of Chamberlain and Grafton Sts. Lowell. Her burial will follow in the family lot in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell.
