Lillian Dorothy “Dot” Kay 101 years old Lillian Dorothy “Dot” Kay died peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2018. Dot was born in Lowell, on December 4, 1916, the beloved daughter of Francis Rouine, Sr. and Yvonne Blaine Rouine Corkery (Harold). She was the widow of Alfred A. Kay. Dot retired from the Internal Revenue Service after many years of service and was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Parish of Lowell. Dot most enjoyed being with her family, especially her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She loved family celebrations including her own 100th birthday party. She was ever-present in her grandchildren’s lives and never missed a sporting event, play, or recital. Dot also had many close friends to whom she was always generous. Dot was a fervent, lifelong Red Sox fan. She loved the music of Frank Sinatra. Dot also was an accomplished seamstress and created wonderful knit and crocheted items for family and friends. She spent many winters in Florida and enjoyed traveling the world. She is survived by her sons, Alfred W. Kay (Susan) of Lowell and William J. Kay (Cathi Smith) of Dundalk, MD, and her daughter-in-law Janeann Kay of Chelmsford, as well as her eight grandchildren, Brian Kay, Laura Kay (Andrew Sullivan), Jennifer Berger (Chris), Susan Kay, Greg Kay (Meredith), Maureen Sigler (David), Avia Kay and Andrew Kay (Jaclyn) and 6 great-grandchildren, Jackson Sigler, Madelyn Kay, Abigail Berger, Brendan Berger, Isabel Sigler and Merryn Kay. She was predeceased by her oldest son Robert F. Kay, her sisters Pauline Pope, Louise Johnson, and her brothers Francis and William Rouine. The family is grateful for the attentive care given by the staff at the Wingate at Belvidere. FUNERAL NOTICE KAY-- In Lowell, February 5, 2018, at Wingate at Belvidere, Lillian Dorothy “Dot” Kay, age 101. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on FRIDAY from 3 until 8 PM. Mrs. Kay’s Funeral will begin on SATURDAY MORNING at 9 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 o’clock at HOLY FAMILY PARISH – ST.
