Jacqueline Mungovan Conlon Beloved Mother and Aunt LOWELL—Jacqueline (Purtell) (Mungovan) Conlon, 88, passed away on Saturday morning, May 27, 2017 at the Palm Center in Chelmsford. She was the beloved wife of John Mungovan who died in 1968 and John Conlon who died in 1986. Jacqueline was born in Lowell on May 3, 1929, one of nine children of Francis A. and Stella (Keyes) Purtell. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s Grammar School and Lowell High School. Jackie remained at home to raise her daughter and care for her home. Later on, she worked as a Day Care Provider. She was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church until its closing. She was then a parishioner of Holy Family. During her years at Sacred Heart, Jackie was active in the parish, and especially the Sacred Heart Band. Her door was always open to everyone…the more the merrier. She was a second mother to many. Jackie had a big and accepting heart. Jackie loved music, dancing, singing, and anything Irish. She loved spending time in the summer at Hampton Beach. She was a big fan of all Boston Sports Teams, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. Jackie is survived by her only daughter, Debra Regan and her husband Brian of Thornton, NH; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews especially Jyl Purtell Reynolds, Sharon Purtell Crowley, and Darlene Beaubien Leahy. She also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Margaret Rogers Purtell and Joan Mungovan; many friends, especially her neighbors in Fr. Norton Manor. Jackie was the sister of the late Theresa A. Purtell, Vera Higgins, Stella Beaubien, Bernard, Francis, William, Charles, and Frederick Purtell. FUNERAL NOTICE CONLON—In Chelmsford, May, 27, 2017 at the Palm Center, Jacqueline (Purtell) (Mungovan) Conlon, age 88. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on WEDNESDAY from 3 until 7 PM. Mrs. Conlon’s Funeral will begin on THURSDAY MORNING at 9 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her FUNERAL MASS at 10 o’clock at HOLY FAMILY PARISH – ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, corner of Chamberlain and Grafton Sts. Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
