Francis A. Gendreau Loving Father, Grandfather, & Companion LOWELL--Francis A. Gendreau, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away at his home on Friday morning, January 27, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was 64 years old. Frank was predeceased by his wife Frances (Wrobel) Gendreau who died in 1974. Frank was born in Lowell on November 9, 1947, a son of the late Arthur and Jennie (Jarosz) Gendreau of Lowell. He attended the Butler School, St. Peter’s Grammar School, and Lowell High School. For over a decade, he worked side by side with his father running the family owned Lincoln Square Hardware store located on Chelmsford Street in Lowell. He later worked at Raytheon and was a City of Lowell retiree. With a deeply seeded entrepreneurial spirit, he continued to be active in his post retirement years, dabbling in Real Estate Property Management. He was a member of the Knickerbocker Club in South Lowell. Frank will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He was always there to lend advice, help out, or to listen to anyone in need. Most of all, Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the summers they spent together at the beach. Frank is survived by his devoted children, Christine F. Vogel and her husband Fred of Greenland, NH, and Stephen F. Gendreau and his wife Christina of Tyngsboro; his adoring grandchildren, Alyssa Gendreau, Jessica Gendreau, Keaghan Vogel, and Kayleigh Vogel. Frank was the beloved companion of 32 years of Virginia A. Sheehan of Lowell, and the loving stepfather of Kerry A. Sheehan and her partner Becky Zehr of Tyngsboro. Frank is also survived by his brother, Arthur Gendreau and his wife Sheila of Boca Raton, FL; his sisters, Beatrice Wrobel and her husband Walter of Derry, NH, Carol Villineau of Lowell, Arlene Zousoumas and her husband Spiros of Lowell; his sisters-in-law, Elaine Wrobel of Lowell and Mary Anne Hutchinson of Derry, NH; his dear Uncle Roger and Aunt Irene Gendreau of Derry, NH; his cousin and good friend John Gendreau and his wife Beverly of Lowell, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE GENDREAU—In Lowell, January 27, 2012 at his home. Francis A. “Frank” Gendreau, 64, a lifelong Lowell resident. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET LOWELL on MONDAY from 4 until 8 P.M. Mr. Gendreau’s Funeral will begin on TUESDAY MORNING at 8 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 9 o’clock at St. Rita’s Church, 158 Mammoth Road, Lowell.
