Francis G. Feehan “Gibby” Francis Gilbert “Gibby” Feehan, the beloved husband of Josephine (DeMichelis) Feehan, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 after a brief illness with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Francis was born in Boston on April 8, 1930, a son of the late John and Margaret (Gallant) Feehan who came to America from Prince Edward Island, Canada. He was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Lowell High School. Mr. Feehan was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving three years in Germany. After returning home from his military service, Gibby married Josephine DeMichelis. Together they raised eight loving children and would have celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary on December 29th of this year. Gibby was a hard worker. He was employed for over 45 years as a tradesman, owning his own drywall business for several years. If you called on Gibby, you got the job done right! In his free time, Gibby loved playing golf and going to the race track to bet on the horses. He and his wife also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods. Gibby also loved to work in his garden. Family was central to Gibby, and he enjoyed family get-togethers, where he exercised his good sense of humor. He would help anyone who needed help. Gibby is survived by his large loving family; his wife Josie; his eight children and their families, his only daughter Linda and her husband Terry LaPointe, his seven sons, Michael Feehan, Brian and his wife Joan Feehan, John and his wife Patty Feehan, Dennis and his wife Donna Feehan, Jimmy and his wife Diane Feehan, Joey and his wife Jeannie Feehan, and Steven Feehan; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Alton Feehan and Hubert Feehan; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including his best friend, Bob Muldoon. Mr. Feehan was the brother of the late Ethel Goscilla and Rev. Kenneth Feehan, S.V.D. FUNERAL NOTICE FEEHAN—In Lowell, December 6, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Francis G. “Gibby” Feehan, 81, beloved husband of Josephine (DeMichelis) Feehan. Family and friends are invited to attend Mr. Feehan’s FUNERAL MASS on FRIDAY MORNING at 11 o’clock at HOLY FAMILY PARISH – ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, corner of Chamberlain and Grafton Sts. Lowell. His burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tewksbury. At his request, there will be no calling hours.
