Margaret L. Surprenant Loving Mother & Doting Grandmother BIDDEFORD, ME—Margaret Lauretta (Metivier) Surprenant, the beloved wife of the late Henry P. Surprenant, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the York Manor in Biddeford, ME. She was 96 years old. Margaret was born in Lowell on April 17, 1914, a daughter of the late Lionel and Mary (Dube) Metivier. She was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Grammar School. Margaret was married to Henry P. Surprenant who died in 1970. A housewife and mother, Margaret remained at home to care for her family. While her children were in school, Margaret was involved all of their activities. She served on the PTA and volunteered as a Scout mother. Margaret was a hard working woman who cherished her family. She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church, now Holy Family Parish. Margaret was a very religious woman. She enjoyed crafts and crafting. Margaret was a doting Grandma and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Margaret was the mother of the late Joyce I. Surprenant who died in 2007 and Henry P. Surprenant who died in 2010. She was the grandmother of the late Dennis A. Deneault who died in 2006. Surviving Margaret are her daughter, Janet M. Deneault of West Palm Beach, FL; her grandchildren James A. Deneault, Kimberly A. Deneault, Henry P. Surprenant, Jr., Jill Panulapati, and Mark J. Surprenant; nine great grandchildren; her brother, Allen J. Metivier of N. Billerica and her daughter-in-law, Maria Surprenant of Saco, ME. FUNERAL NOTICE SURPRENANT—In Biddeford, ME, April 7, 2011. Margaret L. (Metivier) Surprenant, 96, a longtime Lowell resident, more recently of Maine. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on TUESDAY from 4until 8 P.M. Mrs. Surprenant’s Funeral will begin on WEDNESDAY MORNING at 9 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 o’clock at HOLY FAMILY PARISH – ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, Corner of Chamberlain and Grafton Sts. Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
