Wilfredo Otero Loving Son, Brother, Father Loyal Friend LOWELL—Wilfredo Otero, a Lowell resident for the past 40 years, died on Sunday morning at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, following a lengthy illness. Wilfredo was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico on March 10, 1963, a son of Angel Otero and Ramona (Baez) Otero who survive him. Wilfredo received his early education in Puerto Rico before coming to the United States in 1971, when he was eight years old. He continued his schooling in Lowell and attended Lowell High School. Prior to his illness, Wilfredo was employed by the Mitre Corporation, installing and servicing fiber- optic cables. A natural athlete his whole life, Wilfredo was a successful Golden Gloves Boxer, and a proud “south paw” lefty boxer. He loved all sports and enjoyed the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Wilfredo will always be remembered by as a loving person, especially towards his Mom and Dad. Wilfredo is survived by a large loving family: his mother and father, Angel and Ramona Otero of Lowell; his children, Jessica Otero, Alicia Otero, Wilfredo Otero, Jr. and Eric Otero; his nine siblings, Maria Cruz, Milagros Gonzalez, Minerva Otero, Norma Otero, Sandra Otero, Angel Otero, Luis Otero, Jorge Otero, and Daniel Otero, all of Lowell; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends and his longtime companion, Paula Cameron. FUNERAL NOTICE OTERO—In Burlington, February 19, 2012 at Lahey Clinic, Wilfredo Otero, 48, a longtime Lowell resident. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on WEDNESDAY from 4 until 8 P.M. Wilfredo’s Funeral Service will take place on THURSDAY MORNING at 11 A.M. in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family lot in the Westlawn II Cemetery.
