Virginia M. Viau Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother LOWELL—Virginia M. (Prado) Viau, 85, the beloved wife of Richard P. Viau, and a resident of the Belvidere neighborhood, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, September 23, 2018. Virginia was born in Woburn, MA on April 18, 1933, a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Wall) Prado. She attended the Woburn Schools and was a graduate of Woburn High School. Virginia continued her education at Northeastern University, majoring in Biology. She worked for a short time, before marrying the love of her life, Richard P. Viau on February 2, 1957. She then remained at home to care for her family and raise her two daughters, Lisa and Christina. Virginia was Richard’s “Girl Friday” every week at her husband’s plumbing business, O.P. Viau & Sons, Inc., in Lowell. Virginia was a highly intelligent woman. She had a passion for reading and for learning. At home, she was a very good cook and enjoyed nature. She loved watching birds, and was extremely compassionate to her animals and also the creatures that lived outside in her yard. Virginia and Richard enjoyed traveling together. They took trips out West, as well as trips to Europe and several pilgrimages with Fr. Herve Gagnon, OMI to Lourdes and to Fatima. She was a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church. Virginia’s love of family was second to none. She enjoyed being together with family and especially loved her four grandchildren. Surviving Virginia in addition to her husband Richard are her two daughters, Lisa M. Marquis and her husband Albert G. Marquis, and Christina L. Page and her husband Mark V. Page; her grandchildren, Sarah M. Marquis, Katherine A. Page, James E. Marquis, and Andrew R. Page; her sister, Barbara Tomlin; and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was also the sister-in-law of Dr. David Viau and his wife Pauline, and the late George and Therese Viau. FUNERAL NOTICE VIAU—In Lowell, September 23, 2018, at her home, Virginia M. (Prado) Viau, 85, the beloved wife of 61 years of Richard P. Viau. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNRAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on THURDSDAY MORNING from 10 AM until 12 NOON. Mrs. Viau’s Funeral Service will take place at 12 Noon in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford.
