Virginia A. Barrows Lowell resident for over 80 years LOWELL—Virginia A. (Tobin) Barrows passed away on Saturday morning, November 2, 2013 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Virginia was the wife of former City Assessor Raymond F. Barrows who passed away on May 5, 1991. Virginia was born in Lowell on October 25, 1930, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Riley) Tobin. She was educated in Lowell Schools and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School. Virginia married Raymond Barrows in 1951 and together they raised two loving daughters. Virginia made her home in Lowell for over 80 years and had been a longtime Highlands resident. She was employed as a Teachers’ Aide with the Lowell School Department and was also a Clerk at the Middlesex County Registry of Deeds, from which she retired. Virginia loved reading and playing Bingo and Cribbage. In true Irish fashion, she was a wonderful story teller. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland. She also enjoyed summering at the lake. Most of all, Virginia loved spending time and being with her family. Surviving Mrs. Barrows are her children, Margaret Moschetto and her husband Tom of Westford, and Karen Slattery and her husband Joe of Amherst, NH; her God Child and Niece, Kate Nangle of Lowell; her two grandchildren, Brian Costello and Michael Moschetto; a great grandchild, Skyla Costello, and many nieces and nephews, including Robert Davis. Virginia was the sister of the late Catherine Curran and Marie Belcamino, and Great Aunt of the late Matthew Nangle.
