Sara C. Sdoia Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother DRACUT - Sara Sdoia, 91, a longtime resident of Dracut, died peacefully on March 3, 2014 at Woodbriar of Wilmington. Sara was born on March 7, 1922 in Barre, Massachusetts where she received her early education. She was the daughter of the late Sabatino and Eliza (Ianetta) Centracchio. Sara was the wife of the late Eugene S. Sdoia, who passed away in 1971. For many years she worked as a technician for Sylvania and later Alpha Industries in Woburn. Sara enjoyed cooking, reading, and sewing. She particularly enjoyed sewing cell phone bags for friends and family. Sara enjoyed reading about local issues in the Lowell Sun and then calling her opinion in to Back Talk. Sara also came to enjoy football late in life with the advent of Tom Brady. Sara is survived by her daughter, Paula Sdoia of Dracut, and son, Eugene Sdoia and his long time companion, Helen DiGiorgio, of Lowell. She also leaves two granddaughters, Roseann Sdoia of Boston, and Gia Buckley and her husband Patrick Buckley, and three great-granddaughters, Jane, Jessica, and Bridget Buckley of Plaistow, New Hampshire. Sara is also survived by her sister and brother-in-Law, Lucy and Frank Valente of Barre, Massachusetts and a sister-in-law, Frances Centracchio of Springfield, Virginia. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Centracchio, and sisters Josephine Mansuetti and Eleanor Buchinskas. Sara also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews as well as her many dear friends at Dracut Housing on Mammoth Road, Dracut. FUNERAL NOTICE SDOIA—In Wilmington, March 3, 2014, Sara C. Sdoia, 91, a Dracut resident. It being Sara’s wish, Funeral Services were held privately with her family, and burial took place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Sara's name may be made to "Challenge Unlimited" at Ironstone Farm, 450 Lowell Street, Andover, MA 01810.
