Mr. Robert E. Lamarre

Robert E. Lamarre Of Lowell, devoted to his family Robert Edward Lamarre, age 77, a life-long resident of Lowell, passed away Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. The love of Bob's life was Pauline (Parrington) Lamarre, his sweetheart and wife of over 58 years. Together they raised 10 children in the house he built for her. A life-long bricklayer -- the profession he loved most -- he also worked for the State of Massachusetts with the Department of Labor & Industry, and the Attorney General's Office. Bob was a skilled craftsman who felt a day's work was worth doing well. He was known for his work ethic and kind heart. A dedicated communicant and Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church, Bob spent every Sunday after Mass visiting with his many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was devoted to both family and friends and enjoyed going to the Golden Gloves and cheering on his Red Sox at Fenway Park or from his recliner. The son of the late William and Helen (Nison) Lamarre, he is survived by his beautiful wife Pauline Lamarre and his children, Brenda Milinazzo and her husband Don, Doreen Lindof and her husband Don; Gayle Willess, Christine del Llano and her companion Gabe Trani, Donna Roy and her companion Scott Anderson, Leonard Lamarre and his wife Paula, Wayne Lamarre and his wife Kim, Wanda Hennessey and her companion Don Jackson, Laura Lamarre Anderson and her husband Gregory; and a daughter in-law, Nadine Isabelle and her husband Don. Bob was also the father of the late Robert Lamarre and Mary Lamarre. Robert was also the very proud "Grampa" of his 22 grandchildren: Christopher, Jeremy, Adam, Jeffrey, Amy, Terry, Rick, Melanie, Alyssa, Gennessis, Jonathan, Nathan, Lacey, Jessica, Stephanie, Nicholas, Rachel, Ethan, Isaac, Jacob, Theodora, Anya, and 10 great-grandchildren. Bob was the brother of William "Buddy" Lamarre and Edward Lamarre, Alida “Lee” Furtado and the late Therese Norton. The Lamarre Family would like to thank the nursing staff at Lowell General Hospital for caring for Bob in his final days with such compassion and grace.
