Robert “Bob” M. Mosscrop, Jr. A Life Well Lived NASHUA - Robert “Bob” M. Mosscrop Jr., age 84, of Lowell, MA and Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long illness, with family by his side, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, on Thursday, August 6th, 2026. Bob was the beloved husband of 40 years to Virginia “Ginny” Carole (Smith), who passed away in 2005. He was also the sweetheart of Mary Anne Johnston of Norton, MA for the past 15 years. Bob was born in Lawrence, MA to his late parents, John Robert “Bob” Mosscrop and Bernice (Wojnar), of Lawrence and Methuen, MA. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Lowell, MA, where he served as a lector and eucharistic minister. In his retirement, Bob moved to the Church of the Resurrection in Nashua, NH. Bob was humble in his faith and in his devotion to The Virgin Mary, and his family. Bob and his beloved wife Ginny married in 1965, and settled in Lowell, MA, where they raised their children. Bob and Ginny retired in 2003 to Nashua, NH. In 2006 he became a snow bird to The Villages, Citrus Hills, FL. In 2014, he relocated to La Casa, a resident owned community in North Port, FL, where he resided with his sweetheart, Mary Anne. There they enjoyed the company of many Jaycee Senate friends also living at La Casa. Bob considered himself blessed to be surrounded by the people he loved. Bob graduated from the Marist Preparatory Seminary in 1959. He earned his BS from Merrimack College, Andover, MA, class of 1965. He then earned a Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management in 1987 from Harvard University, followed by his MBA from Bentley College in 1991, and an MS in Taxation, with Distinction in 1999. Starting his career in taxation at H & R Block in the 1960’s, he steadily built his own Income Tax Preparation and Consulting business, serving the Greater Lowell area for over 25 years. During this time, he also worked for Honeywell and Sanders Associates in Hudson, NH. In 2000, he merged his tax business with CPA, LLoyd Erickson, of Chelmsford, MA becoming E & M Associates of Chelmsford, MA. Bob enjoyed working with the Erickson family. He retired from E & M in 2006. Bob loved helping others and having fun while doing it. He found enjoyment and fulfillment in a life of service with the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees), Lowell Chapter. He served as President of the Lowell Jaycees in the late 1970’s. During his tenure Bob assisted on many significant projects around Lowell. Bob was a founding member of the Jaycee Board that built Jaycee Place, a low income housing development in Lowell for the elderly and disabled. Bob was also a founding member of the Jaycee Board that started the Roger’s Hall Corporation. Which renovated Lowell’s former Rogers Hall School for Girls, on Rogers Street, into the Rogers Hall Apartments; an apartment complex providing low income housing for the elderly and disabled. He served on the Board for many years. Having fun with the Jaycee’s meant organizing charity events and fundraisers across the city and state for the benefit of the community. During his Jaycee years, 1970s - 80s, he forged many lifelong friendships with people who shared his values in community service. In 1984, Bob was awarded a Lifetime Membership as a Senator #36584 in the United States JCI Senate Organization. He was elected as Region One JCI Senate National Vice President 2016-17, continuing to serve others. In 1992, Furthering his devotion to a life of service, he began volunteering at the Lourdes Center in Boston and quickly became a regular helper. He made many pilgrimages over 15 years to Our Lady of Lourdes, Lourdes, France, with the Lourdes Bureau as a dedicated helper and attendant to the sick and disabled, making friends and swapping pins with many people from around the world. During his life and retirement, Bob enjoyed many activities including a passion for travel and for playing golf, visiting many local courses and fulfilling a “bucket list" item of golfing in all 50 states. He also played in several countries in Europe. He was a regular at the Groton, MA Golf Club. Bob was an avid Chess player for 60+ years. He was an active member of the Billerica Chess Club for many years and once hosted Boris Spassky’s (1972 World Champion - famously defeated by Bobby Fisher in 1975) visit to the club for a 50 person simultaneous exhibition. Bob was an avid reader, his favorites being Sci-Fi and Westerns. He loved to play cribbage. He was proud of his large gardens; where he grew lots of produce; for many years he enjoyed canning and pickling his harvest. He was witty and had an incredible sense of humor. He was proud of his Polish and English heritage. Bob lived a fulfilling and meaningful life. He was happy to serve his fellow man. Some of his happiest moments were while spending time and traveling with family, creating treasured and lasting memories, and his #1 rule: Having Fun! He is survived by his three children: Robert M. Mosscrop, III, of Downingtown, PA, Susan H. Larivee of Nashua NH and Richard A. Mosscrop of Merrimack, NH. Sisters Joan B (Mosscrop) Rocheford and her husband John of Auburn, MA and Helene (Mosscrop) Kasprzak and her husband Joseph of Worcester, MA. His Brother-in-law Dr. Richard M. McIntyre and his wife Patricia (Wallace) of Virginia. Grandchildren include:Timothy Mosscrop and his wife Sarah of VT, Keith Mosscrop of Merrimack, NH, Stephanie Mosscrop and her fiance Dillon Ouellette of Manchester, NH. Julie McLaughlin of Littleton, CO, Liam Mosscrop of Downingtown, PA, Michelle C. Larivee of Derry, NH, Logan Mosscrop and his fiance Margarita Tangalidis of Clearwater, FL. 6 Great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was the Godfather of Julie (Rocheford) Falcucci and daughter Elizabeth (Rocheford) Geldart of Auburn, MA, Matthew and Thomas Kasprzak of VA & Washington, DC. and Liam Mosscrop of PA.
