Rita A. (Valkavitch) (Elliot) Husselbee Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother LOWELL—Rita A. (Valkavitch) (Elliot) Husselbee , 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 15, 2011 at Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley of North Billerica, after an extended illness. She was the beloved wife of Stanley William Husselbee. Rita was born in Lowell on July 10, 1939, a daughter of the late John and Alice (Milnes) Valkavitch. She was a graduate of the Lowell School System. Prior to her retirement, Rita was employed as a manager at Scriptures Laundry Service of Lowell for many years. A lifelong Lowell resident, Rita was a former parishioner of St. Peter’s Church and Sacred Heart Church of Lowell. Rita enjoyed camping, bingo, crossword puzzles, watching soap operas, going to Foxwoods, and cats and dogs. Mrs. Husselbee was also organized bus rides for local bingo for many years. Besides her husband, Stanley William Husselbee of Lowell, Rita is survived by her two daughters, Deborah A. (Elliot) Collins and her husband John P. Ziemba of Wentworth, New Hampshire, and Sandra L. Elliot and her friend Joyce of Windham, Maine; her three sons, Robert G. Elliot of San Diego, California, Richard M. Elliot of Nashua, New Hampshire, and Ross J. Elliot of Lowell; her grandchildren, Kimberly A. Tardif, Joseph O. Tardif and his wife Karen, John P. Ziemba, Richard M. Elliot and his wife Sarah, Savannah, Cassidy, and Kristen Elliot; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Rita was also the mother of the late Lisa M. Elliot and Deana Elliot, and the sister of the late Joseph Valkavitch, Stanley Valkavitch, John Valkavitch, and Mary Johnson.
