Raymond J. Gelineau Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather Ray’s Variety & Package Store Owner INDIANTOWN, FL—Raymond J. Gelineau, 87, a resident of Indiantown, Florida and a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Hamrick Home Hospice of Okeechobee. He was the beloved husband of 21 years of Jeannie (Santora) Gelineau. He was also the loving husband of Beatrice (Lemelin) Gelineau who passed away in 1981. Raymond was born in Lowell, MA on March 18, 1927, a son of the late Romeo and Irene (Gendreau) Gelineau. He was educated in the Lowell Schools. Following graduation, Ray was employed in the manufacturing industry in Lowell. He enlisted the United States Navy in 1944. A WWII Navy Veteran, Mr. Gelineau served aboard the USS Flaherty, a Naval Destroyer. Prior to his retirement, he was the proprietor of Ray’s Variety & Package Store, located on Woburn Street in Tewksbury. Ray was an avid golfer and bowler. As an RV owner, he enjoyed traveling all around the country. While living in Florida, Ray was everyone’s “handyman,” always there to fix something or make it right. He also loved to dance and play the harmonica. Ray will be remembered for his continuous invitation to “come in and have a beer,” and always enjoying the company of his family, friends, and neighbors. He is survived by his wife Jeannie Gelineau of Indiantown, FL; his daughters, Roseanne Carpenter and her husband Gary of Warwick, RI, Pauline "Chicky" Hanson and her companion Dave of Dover, NH, Elaine Martel of Port St. Lucie, FL, Denise Lupoli and her husband Samuel of Tewksbury; his son, Raymond R. Gelineau of Lowell; his sisters, Theresa Reid and her husband Fred of Chelmsford, and Aline "Peanut" Parent of Indiantown, FL; thirteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on THURSDAY from 10 AM until 12 NOON. Mr. Gelineau’s Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 PM at HOLY FAMILY PARISH – ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, corner of Chamberlain and Grafton Sts. Lowell. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
