Mrs. Mildred "Millie" A. (Hannon) (Pelland) Moran

Mildred A. Moran “Nana” LOWELL—Mildred A. “Millie” (Hannon) (Pelland) Moran, 89, passed away on Friday morning, October 25, 2013 at Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus. She was surrounded by her loving family. Millie was the wife of the late Clifford E. Pelland for 39 years. They raised seven children together, until he passed away in 1983. She was also the wife of the late Clarence Moran, with whom she shared 16 years of marriage. Mildred was born in Lowell on January 3, 1924, a daughter of the late William J. and Anna E. (Healand) Hannon. She was educated in Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Although she answered to many names, Mildred, Mille, Mom , it was Nana that she heard most often and described her best. Millie was blessed with the joy of loving life and she possessed the spirit of love. Millie loved life, she loved children, and she loved music. She had a great sense of humor. All who knew Millie could immediately sense her zest for life and could share in her laughter. During WWII, Millie worked as an aide at the Fort Devens Hospital. Her caring nature helped put a smile on the faces of those she was helping. It was a pleasure to be in her presence. Millie’s family would like to thank Dr. Bertos for his professional and gentle care of their Mom for the past ten years. They would also like to thank Dr. Weiner, her cardiologist for the past thirty years. A thank you also goes to the nurses, aides, volunteers, and staff members of D’Youville Adult Day Health Center for their attention and care of Mom. A special thank you goes to Marty and the many wonderful aides who cared for Millie. Thank you also to Elder Services for their guidance and assistance. Millie was the mother of the late Patricia Brettschneider who passed away on October 11, 2012. Millie is survived by three daughters; Betty and her husband Phil Guy of Lowell, Mary and her husband Henry Neault of Crowley, Texas, and Christine and her husband Ronald Maglionico of Cleveland, Ohio; three sons, Clifford E. Pelland, Jr. of Danville, NH, William and his wife Sue Pelland of Lowell, and Michael Pelland of Gardner; fifteen grandchildren, Bernadette Guy, Melissa Manick, Phillip Guy Jr., Carrie Kelly, Brian Pelland, Eric Pelland, Amanda Rosado, Lisa Barone, William Pelland, Alice Boyer, William Brettschneider, Michael Goddard, Sarah Goddard, Robert Maglionico, and Gina Maglionico. Millie is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Millie was the sister of the late Shirley Gillespie, Dorothy Hannon, William J. Hannon, Jr., and John Hannon.
