Mr. Michael J. Tremblay

MICHAEL J. TREMBLAY “MIKE” Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather LOWELL—Michael J. “Mike” Tremblay passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 72 years old. Michael was born in Cambridge on July 25, 1948, a son of the late Arthur and Anne (Cheyne) Tremblay. He attended St. Catherine’s School in Somerville until his teen years, and graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 1966. Michael joined the US Navy in 1967, and served in No. Chicago, Okinawa, and Hawaii. Michael spent his entire married life working in Electrical Sales; beginning with Ralph Pill Co. in Lawrence and eventually McCartin Co. in Lowell, from where he retired in 2017. Mike enjoyed taking Carol and Caitlin to Disney World on at least ten occasions. His last trip was to Universal Studios with Carol in 2019. Mike was an avid fan of the Patriots and Bruins. He tried to never miss watching or attending a game. He also loved the Red Sox but could only listen to many games with headphones due to the conflict of watching TV or mowing and perfecting his lawn. He was known as the “guy mowing his lawn in his Hawaiian shirt”. Mike was most known as the “guy with the story about everything”. He had a detailed memory of his whole life, which he would share with anyone who would listen. This quality earned Mike many, many friends throughout the years. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol (Shea) Tremblay; his son Michael Tremblay, Jr. and his wife Tesé; his daughter, Tricia McVey and her husband Edward; his granddaughter, Caitlin Tremblay and her partner Robert Martineau. He was predeceased by his daughter Christine Livesey who passed away in 2010. “Papa” will be sorely missed by his grandchildren Michael III, Blayde, Christian, and Savannah Tremblay, and Malia Foye. He will also be missed by his siblings Patricia Cerreto and her husband Michael, Arlene Norton, Richard Tremblay and his partner Kim Richardson, and Jeremiah Tremblay and his partner Michelle Whittemore. Michael was also loved by Carol’s family and his numerous nieces and nephews.
