Mr. Michael A. Luce, Sr.

Michael A. Luce, Sr. Malden native and longtime Wilmington Resident LAWRENCE—Michael A. Luce, Sr., 73, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Center in Lawrence. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Cooper) Luce. Michael was born in Everett in 1946, a son of the late Frederick and Mary (Gibbs) Luce. He was raised in Malden, attended Malden Schools and graduated from Malden High School. Mike was employed for many years as a mechanic and a truck driver. He had an outgoing personality and was always a jokester. Some of his favorite hobbies included fishing, racing cars, and attending car shows. At home he enjoyed gardening and listening to “oldies”. In his younger years he enjoyed traveling to Alton Bay, NH with his family. He also liked trips to Revere Beach, to the famous Kelly’s Roast Beef, and to the Piantedosi Baking Company in Malden. One of Mike’s favorite things was setting up his Christmas Tree every year. When his children were small, they enjoyed going to Benson’s Wild Animal Farm and to Canobie Lake Park. He loved being with his family, and especially loved the little kids. In addition to his wife Sandra, Mike is survived by his thirteen children, Diane and Richard Katz, Michael Luce, Jr., Chris and Kristin Luce, Steven and Leslie Luce, Rachel and Dave Rowbotham, Jessica and Jose Rivera, Sarah and Jose Orizal Luce, Thomas and Michele Reed, Megan Luce, Amanda Luce and Shawn Francis, Robert and Abra Luce, Margaret and Chris Degou, and Evelyn Needham; twenty six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Linda, Joanne, Warren, Robert, Timothy, Barbara, Mary Jeanette, Lester, Emily, and June. Mike also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. FUNERAL NOTICE LUCE—In Lawrence, October 7, 2019, Michael A. Luce, Sr., 73.
