Michael J. Bannister Loving Son, Brother, and Friend LOWELL—Michael James Bannister, 33, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday evening, March 24, 2014. He was the beloved son of Ralph and Judy (Thomas) Bannister, and brother of Charles Bannister, all of Lowell. Michael was born in Lowell on July 1, 1980 and was raised in Dracut, attending the Dracut Schools. He moved to Lowell 18 years ago and was a 1998 graduate of the Greater Lowell Vocational School where he studied the Culinary Arts. Since his graduation, Michael had worked his way up from salad maker, to line cook, to a short stint as an executive chef, before settling in as a sous-chef. He worked at the Heritage Manor, the 99 Restaurant, the Olive Garden, the Hilton, and finally, his dream job with Joe’s American Bar and Grill in Nashua. Michael was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was also an avid coin collector. Michael loved his music and strumming on the guitar and banging the drums. He was a huge movie buff and loved his Dodge Charger. In addition to his parents Ralph and Judy (Thomas) Bannister, Michael is survived by his brother, best friend, and soul mate Charles Bannister; also many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael was the grandson of the late Ralph and Margaret (Berry) Bannister of Billerica and the late Frank and Ella (Bernson) Thomas of Tewksbury and the late Marion (Shea) Blazonis of Lowell. Michael’s family would like to extend a huge thank you to his cousins, Michelle and Priscilla. FUNERAL NOTICE BANNISTER-In Lowell, March 24, 2014, unexpectedly at his home, Michael J. Bannister, 33, a resident of South Lowell. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on SUNDAY from 2 until 6 P.M. Michael’s Funeral Service will take place on MONDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock in the Funeral Home, followed by his burial in the Lowell Cemetery.
