Mary E. Lynch Loving Mother and Grandmother LOWELL--Mary Elizabeth (Sugden) Lynch, 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Heritage Nursing Care Center. She was the beloved wife of Thomas G. Lynch who died on March 21, 2001. Mary was born in Lowell on April 28, 1920, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Mungovan) Sugden. She attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Mary was employed in Retail. She was a foster mother for Catholic Charities, taking many infant children into her home to nurture and love until they were adopted. Prior to her retirement, Mary worked as a teacher’s aide in the Lowell Public Schools. Mary and her husband Tom enjoyed taking bus trips down to Atlantic City. Mary liked to read, especially Danielle Steel Novels. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and truly loved all children. Mary enjoyed watching the Game Show Network, ice scating on TV, and Boston Red Sox ballgames. Mrs. Lynch is survived by her daughter Gail Crabtree; her son Thomas A. Lynch, both of Lowell; two grandchildren, Cara Crabtree of Dracut and Ian Crabtree and his fiancée Melinda Edwards of Tyngsborough; four great grandchildren Stephen Johnson, Brendan Andrade, Corey Crabtree, and Braelynn Crabtree; two great great grandchildren, Kenneth Poulin Johnson and Skye Johnson; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann Sugden, Madeline Donnelly, Mary Lynch, George Lynch, Rita Lynch, Donald Connolly; also many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary was the sister of the late Albert Sugden and Harold Sugden, and sister-in-law of the late Thomas Donnelly, Camile Lynch, Lorraine Connolly, and Peter and Florence Lynch. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on SATURDAY MORNING from 10 o’clock until 11 o’clock. Mrs. Lynch’s Funeral Service will follow at 11 o’clock in the Funeral Home. Burial in the family lot in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
