Mr. Manuel Lima Gil

Manuel Lima Gil Loving Father, Grandfather, Brother LOWELL—Manuel Lima Gil, 88, passed away on Saturday morning, May 7, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maria DaJuda Pereira Cunha who died in 2003. Manuel was born on February 29, 1928 in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal to Joao Gil Ramos and Cultilde Lima. Manuel was a farmer and carpenter in Graciosa until he came to the United States in 1974. He had been employed at Old Mother Hubbard, Joan Fabric, and the Four Seasons Restaurant. Manuel is survived by his three daughters, Laurinda Lima, Maria Azevedo, and Maria Harrigan, all of Lowell; his grandchildren, Steven Neves and his fiancé Priscilla Maldonado, Kelly Neves, Melissa Centeno and her husband Edwin, Amanda Azevedo and her fiancé Brian Zepkoski, Ashley Azevedo, Kelsey Harrigan, Kasey Harrigan, and Kiley Harrigan; his great grandchildren, Steven Neves, Jr., Briana Neves, Noah Neves, Jaden Neves, Amber Neves, Mya Zepkoski, Cienna Centeno, Jayce Zepkoski, Naveyan Centeno, and Edwin Centeno, Jr.; his brothers and sisters, George Lima and his wife Avelina, Carolina Ramos, Antonieta Bettencourt, Joao Ramos and his wife Aldora, Antonio Ramos and his wife Conceicao, Jose G. Ramos and his wife Antonia, Maria Zinha Espinola and her husband Alvarino; a sister-in-law, Luzia Lima; also many nieces and nephews. Manuel was the brother of the late Gabriel Lima and Lina Avila and the brother- in-law of the late Joao Bettencourt and Pedro Avila. Relatives and friends are invited to his Calling Hours at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on THURSDAY from 4 until 8 P. M. Mr. Gil’s FUNERAL will begin on FRIDAY MORNING at 9 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by his FUNERAL MASS at 10 o’clock at ST. ANTHONY’S CHURCH, 893 Central St. Lowell.
