Kathleen “Kathy” Tighe LOWELL – Kathleen “Kathy” Tighe passed away at her home in Lowell on February 19th, surrounded by her loving friends and family, after a long illness. She was born in Lowell in 1965, the daughter of Sherrin (Finneral) Tighe and the late Leo Tighe Jr. She is survived by two brothers, Shaun P. Tighe of Lowell and Leo F. Tighe III of Beverly, MA. Kathy attended Lowell Public Schools and graduated from Lowell High School in 1983. She attended the University of Lowell and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1988. Kathy worked as a technical sales director for various manufacturing firms, most recently The Hitachi Corporation. In these roles, Kathy travelled the globe managing sales teams on four continents. Kathy enjoyed her career, embraced the adventure of the travel that came with it, and made friends all over the globe. Kathy had a wide variety of interests including knitting, sewing, cooking, baking (especially her famous cheesecake,) gardening, collecting and sharing wine, sitting at her family lake house at Cobbett’s Pond, relaxing on the beach by any shoreline, traveling the world, storytelling, and engaging with children especially her Godchildren Kyle, Brian and Katja. She was a true lover of cats, rescuing and adopting many of them over the years. She will be missed by her loyal feline companion Ferg. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church in Lowell, the former Sacred Heart Parish in Lowell, and, in recent years, she worshipped at St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Lowell. Kathy had many beloved aunts and uncles including: the late Robert and the late Janice Julian of Lowell, the late George “Mickey” and Irene (Blanco) Finneral of Lowell, the late Gerald and late Emily (Gazes) Finneral of Lowell, Donald and June Bourget of Chelmsford, late William “Buddy” and Carol Walsh of Kennebunkport, ME, late Richard “Dicky” and Patricia “Patsy” Tenczar of Lowell, the late Henry and Delia “Deedee” (Jackson) Finneral of Lowell, and Martha (Pilato) Tighe and the late Edward J. Tighe of Lowell, late Robert P. and Cynthia (Fitzpatrick) Tighe of Lowell, the late Michael and the late Joanne (Greenwood) Tighe of Lowell, Retired Air Force Col. Joseph W. and Mary Ann (Tighe) Mulhern of Virginia. Kathy also was predeceased by her cousin George “Scotty” Finneral. Kathy was loved deeply by her huge extended family including many cousins, co-workers, neighbors and friends who shared every aspect of her life with her. During her illness, Kathy received around the clock care from her closest friends and relatives, affectionately referred to as, “Kathy’s Angels.” She was loved by many, and her infectious smile and positive spirit will be missed greatly by all of those lives she deeply touched. FUNERAL NOTICE TIGHE – in Lowell, February 19, 2021, at her home in Lowell, at age 55, Kathleen “Kathy” Tighe. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL on Wednesday February 24th from 4 pm until 8 pm. Kathy’s Funeral will begin on Thursday February 25th at 9 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 o’clock at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 144 East Merrimack Street, Lowell. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Lowell.
