Mr. Elkin Ramiero Cano

Elkin R. Cano Loving Husband and Father LOWELL—Elkin Ramiero Cano, 55, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 unexpectedly at his home. Elkin was born in Medellin, Colombia on October 23, 1957 to Ester Cano and Marcos Cano. He came to New Jersey in his adult years, where he worked in an Italian Restaurant as a cook. It was during that time that Elkin met his beloved wife, Luz Mary (Valencia) Cano. They married three years later and settled in Lowell, MA to raise a family. For many years, Elkin worked at UMass Lowell as a custodian. He cherished his work and was always determined to do an excellent job. Elkin, along with his wife, was an uplifting spirit and enjoyed spending time with his family. Together they were active members of St. Patrick’s Church. He took pleasure in traveling for the holidays. Elkin was a joyful, relaxing person who knew how to handle any type of situation. Elkin is survived by his children, Kenny Cano and Lesly Cano; his wife Luz Cano all of Lowell; two brothers, Edgar Cano and his wife Estela Cano of New Jersey, and Alex Cano; his sister, Gloria Cotes and her husband Omar Cotes; his sister-in-law, Olga L. Valencia and her three children, Vanessa Muriel, Julian Muriel, and Melisa Muriel; his nieces and nephews, Marly Valencia and Jhony Valencia; his brother-in-law, Elkin E. Muriel; his grandmother-in-law, Olga Quiceno and grandfather-in-law Antonio Valencia. Elkin will always be missed and never be forgotten. His family wishes to deeply thank everyone that has come to support them through these tough times. FUNERAL NOTICE CANO—In Lowell, Feb. 24, 2013, Elkin R. Elkin’s Funeral Mass will follow on SATURDAY AFTERNOON, at 2 P.M. in ST. PATRICK’S CHURCH, 282 Suffolk Street, Lowell. Cremation will follow.
