Charlena “Gigi” Sodea Ngeth Loving Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Friend Charlena Sodea Ngeth was born on November 5, 1996. Sadly we lost her on November 17, 2014, at age 18, to a horrific nightmare. Charlena was known as “Gigi” a well-known nickname given by family, that only family members are familiar with. Otherwise, friends would spell it out “Chi-chi” with the same pronunciation, of course. Gigi was a devoted family person as well as sociable, care-giving, smart, outgoing, and most importantly, loving. She came from a strong family of nine siblings; including Gigi, six girls and three brothers total. Visually, Gigi was the middle child in the family and also the third oldest of the girls. She was also an aunt to two beautiful nieces, Cyauna and Caylauna Leng. Gigi was always ambitious, she never took anything for granted, and was well respected by everyone. But if you were to cross her, there was no doubt that she would speak up for herself, quite frankly, she was very honest. She enjoyed hanging out with friends and was willing to meet new people. She would always wish the best for those who respected her. Gigi was full of life and energy. She was always smiling bright as if every day was a celebration. Like every other kid, she was just a teenager who had her fair share of mistakes, and within that time range, she was free to live her life however she pleased. Unfortunately, other people who barely knew the true Gigi, probably knew her as bad, unpleasant and disrespectful, probably because they only saw the dark side of her. Despite her share of mistakes, no one ever understood her like her family did. She was far from ruthless, nonetheless devoted, and simply protective of her family members. She was loyal to those who never crossed her in any way. As a family, our only intention was to help her focus and guide her to become a better person. Gigi had her whole life ahead of her. She was young and taken away from us too soon. All we can do is hope and pray that she is in a better place. Family and friends may come to the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on SUNDAY, Nov. 23rd from 2 until 3 P.M. At 3 P.M., Gigi’s Funeral Procession will travel to the GLORY BUDDHIST TEMPLE, 153 HALE STREET, LOWELL, where a Traditional Buddhist Wake will take place from 6 until 10 P.M. Funeral Services will begin on MONDAY MORNING at 8 A.M. from the GLORY BUDDHIST TEMPLE with her Funeral Procession traveling to WESTLAWN II CEMETERY at 8:30 A.M for burial.
