Annette J. Rowbotham Loving Mother and Grandmother LOWELL—Annette J. (Dumont) Rowbotham, 97, the wife of the late James J. Rowbotham, passed away Sunday evening, August 21, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Annette was born in Lowell on February 20, 1914, a daughter of the late Arthur J. and Alida “Ida” (Lebeuf) Dumont. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s and St. Marie’s Grammar Schools and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. Annette worked at Suffolk Knitting Mills as a stitcher for 15 years. Later on, she worked at Ft. Devens as a supervisor and a financier from 1970 until 1982 when she retired. Annette was a communicant of St. Marie’s Church, a member of St. Ann’s Sodality and was very active with church functions. She was a lifelong resident of South Lowell. Annette was an avid bowler and loved working in her yard. Annette enjoyed her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. Rowbotham are her two daughters, Doris M. Boule and her companion Roger R. Geoffroy of Lowell and Ann M. Hanson and her husband George F. Hanson of Lowell; her two sons, Richard J. “Rocky” Rowbotham of Lowell, and James M. “Jim” Rowbotham and his wife Diane of Salem, NH; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her sister, Florence M. Bastien of Chelmsford; her brother, Royal S. “Mickey” Dumont and his wife Hilma A. Dumont of Florida; a sister-in-law, Rita Rowbotham of Lowell. Annette was the mother of the late Infant Joan Marie Rowbotham, and sister of the late Noella Conlin and Maurice Dumont. FUNERAL NOTICE ROWBOTHAM—In Lowell, August 21, 2011. Annette J. (Dumont) Rowbotham, 97, the beloved wife of the late James J. Rowbotham. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on WEDNESDAY from 4 until 8 P.M. Annette’s Funeral will begin on THURSDAY MORNING at 10 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock at HOLY FAMILY PARISH – ST. MARIE’S CHURCH, corner of Chamberlain and Grafton Sts. Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
