Ann F. Peterson Caring Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother DRACUT--Ann Frances (Oulighan) Peterson, 88, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2013 at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the loving wife of the late Robert W. Peterson who died in 1975. Ann was born in Lowell on December 17, 1924 and was one of six children of the late James and Elizabeth J. (Curran) Oulighan. Ann was educated at the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Ann was married at the Immaculate Conception Church to her beloved husband, Robert, on December 28, 1946. They shared an adoring and loving marriage for 29 years. Together, they raised a family of four daughters; Maureen, Patricia, Ann, and Ruth. Ann’s true zest for life showed in her adoration and love for her girls. Her daughters returned this love and care always, but especially so in Ann’s elder years and particularly throughout her illness. Ann was also the proud grandmother to 3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons; Kelly Topsacalian and her husband Harutiun, Wayne Michalian and his wife Jennifer, Robert L’Heureux, Michael L’Heureux, Rebecca Centrella and her husband Aaron and Theresa Levesque. In addition, she has six great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great joy to Ann. After high school, Ann worked in the office of Laganas Shoe and as a secretary for many years in the Lowell area. More recently, Ann’s love of children was known at her job at CKC Childcare Center in Gilford, NH. Ann made her home with her daughter, Maureen, in Gilford for 17 years. They both loved Lake Winnipesauke and the White Mountains and traveled extensively through the region. Ann was known for her kindness and compassion, and selflessly helped those in need. Her complete dedication to family and friends set a wonderful example to all who were blessed to know her. In addition to her loving daughters and sons -in –law, Maureen Peterson of Dracut, Patricia Michaelian of Marlborough, Ann and John Levesque of Merrimack, NH, and Ruth and Michael L’Heureaux of Dracut, Ann is survived by her sisters, Virginia Oulighan of Lowell, Jane Narbonne and her husband Paul of Portsmouth, NH; her sister -in-law Doris Oulighan of Cumberland, RI and many, much-loved nieces and nephews. Ann was the sister of the late James Oulighan, William Oulighan, and Helen E. Cotter, and the sister-in–law of the late Rita Oulighan and John Cotter. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on THURSDAY from 4 until 7 P.M. Ann’s Funeral will begin on FRIDAY MORNING at 8 o’clock from the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 9 o’clock at St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Rd. Dracut.
