OBITUARY Nancy V. Stokinger Loving Mother and Grandmother NASHUA, NH—Nancy V. (Cornell) Stokinger, 80, a resident of Langdon Place in Nashua, passed away on Sunday morning, March 13, 2011, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. Richard H. Stokinger, US Army, Ret. Nancy was born in Stoughton, MA on August 3, 1930, a daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (Dyke) Cornell. She was raised in Revere, attended Revere schools and was a graduate of Revere High School. Nancy married Richard H. Stokinger on April 10, 1953, and together they raised four loving children and celebrated 46 years of marriage. Richard passed away in 1999. Nancy lived most of her life in Acton, MA and spent the last 15 years living in Southern New Hampshire. She traveled the world with her husband while he served in the U.S. Military. Nancy loved traveling and camping. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was known for her unique sense of humor. Surviving Mrs. Stokinger are her four children and their spouses, Charles E. Stokinger and his wife Ellen Stokinger of Hudson, NH, Sally E. Franco and her husband Alfredo I. Franco of Humble, TX, Virginia Franco and her husband James Franco of Manchester, NH, and Margaret “Meg” Lambert and her husband Dean Lambert of Mason, NH; her sister, Patricia Verre of Plymouth, MA; her grandchildren, Andrew and Andrea Stokinger of Corbin, KY, Janet Stokinger of Barbourville, KY, Elizabeth Franco and Richard Franco both of Texas, Jessica and Joseph Dane of Phoenix, AZ, Amanda and Joshua Pratte of Manchester, NH, Rebecca Leonard of Phoenix, AZ, and Kyle Lambert of Mason, NH; three great grandchildren, Patrick Pratte, Jonathan Dane, and Sophia Stokinger. Mrs. Stokinger is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nancy was the sister of the late Frank L. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on WEDNESDAY from 3 until 7 P.M. Funeral Prayers will be offered by Rev. Ennis Duffis at 7 P.M. following the visiting hours. Mrs. Stokinger will be cremated and buried with her husband in the spring at the Massachusetts National Cemetery on Cape Cod.
